No one expected this. Over 100,000 people from all over Poland attended the march commemorating the 1000th anniversary of the Kingdom of Poland and the 500th anniversary of the Prussian Homage. The turnout far exceeded the organizers’ expectations.
The march began at 12:00 PM. It was preceded by a Thanksgiving Mass at the Holy Cross Church for the 1000 years of the Kingdom of Poland. There was also an attempt to break the record for the longest polonaise dance, led by the Historical Dance Ensemble CHOREA ANTIQUA.
Participants marched through the streets of Warsaw, including members of Gazeta Polska Clubs from across the country. They carried white-and-red flags and banners with slogans such as “Always Faithful: God, Honor, Homeland” and “Free Political Prisoner Dariusz Matecki.”
