In 2022, the route of the largest cycling race in the country Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour will not run through Katowice for the first time in 12 years. The route of the 79th edition of the race bypasses Katowice and the entire Silesian Voivodeship. It will start on July 30 in Kielce and end on August 5 in Cracow.
In 2022, the motto of the Tour de Pologne will be ‘Race for Peace’. This is a form of support for our closest neighbours from across the eastern border. – We want to run a race that is based on the principles of brotherhood and peace. Together we can convey such values to people, because the Tour de Pologne is an event watched by millions of fans, and its scope is international. – emphasises Czesław Lang.

30.07- 1st stage, Kielce – Lublin (221 km)
31.07- 2nd stage, Chełm – Zamość (204 km)
1.08 – 3rd stage, Kraśnik – Przemyśl (230 km)
2.08 – 4th stage, Lesko – Sanok (177 km)
3.08 – 5th stage, Łańcut – Rzeszów (205 km)
4.08 – 6th stage, Szaflary – Bukovina Resort (time trial, 15.4 km)
5.08 – 7th stage, Skawina – Cracow (175 km)

For the first time in 12 years, Katowice is not a part of the route. This year, the tour will take place in cities where it has never occurred before. It is a great loss of the sports and marketing message resulting from showing the previous destinations in Poland. On the other hand, it is a new great opportunity for other cities included in the 2022 stages of the route. However, similarly to the previous editions, the event will gather a huge amount of people.
The next edition of the Tour de Pologne will traditionally be a great event that will attract millions of fans to the route and in front of their TV sets. Broadcasting of the race is already confirmed on five continents, which will ensure excellent promotion of the discipline, but also of our country.
