At the end of last week, six ventilators arrived at the University Hospital in Zielona Góra. This is another batch of medical equipment purchased by the provincial government as part of the “Lubuskie versus virus” program, Marzena Toczek, spokeswoman for the provincial board, said.
“These are high-class devices, each worth about PLN 90 thousand bought from the EU program ‘Lubuskie versus virus’. Under the program the provincial government has so far bought equipment worth a total of PLN 36 million,” Toczek said.
She added that, in total, the local government of the region will buy 17 ventilators for the hospital in Zielona Góra; so far the clinic has received nine such devices under the aforementioned program (including the ones recently provided).
“This equipment is exactly what our doctors wanted. I hope they will not be used too often, but we are trying to stay ahead of the disease and do everything that needs to be done now to make our fight against the pandemic effective”, the Marshal of the Lubuskie Voivodeship Elżbieta Polak said.
In October this year, eight ventilators worth PLN 920 thousand purchased from the voivodeship budget were also delivered to the University Hospital. As part of the “Lubuskie versus virus” program, apart from ventilators, the clinic received, among others: defibrillators, a water treatment station, a tomograph, video laryngoscopes, a bronchofiberoscope, anesthesia machines and many other medical devices.
