Five universities in Poland received prestigious accolades during the 8th edition of the Research Impact Leaders Awards, organized by Elsevier Poland. The awards, initiated in 2016, aim to honor institutions making significant contributions to global research visibility. This year, the winners include the Silesian and Gdańsk University of Technology, along with Jagiellonian, Warsaw, and Adam Mickiewicz Universities.
Top Performers in Key Categories
Awards were presented across seven categories. Gdańsk University of Technology excelled in Life Sciences/Agricultural Sciences and Engineering and Technology. Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań triumphed in Humanities, while Jagiellonian University led in Medical Sciences. Warsaw University took the top spot in Natural Sciences, and Silesian University of Technology was recognized for Social Sciences.
Special Recognition for Collaborative Impact
Silesian University of Technology also received the European Alliances Research Impact Leaders Award. This special recognition highlights institutions excelling in international collaboration and impactful research output.
Data-Driven Success
Elsevier’s awards are based on data-driven analysis, evaluating publication growth, citation metrics, international partnerships, top-tier journal presence, and citations influencing public policy. The awards were presented during the Plenary Assembly of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Zabrze.
