The works on the multi-year European Union budget seem to have come to a dead end. Poland and Hungary continue to veto the document. Neither country is willing to accept the demands set by Berlin.
“Our goal as the Polish government is to guarantee the best possible budgetary solutions for Poles, so that these funds are invested in Poland. We don’t want our finances to be dependent on someone’s sympathy or lack thereof towards certain countries or political will of several politicians. We want the EU budget to be based on the EU Treaties, this is our task today.” commented Marcin Przydacz, the deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
