In its latest report, Forbes magazine has unveiled its updated list of billionaires, featuring a staggering 2,781 individuals, marking an increase of 141 from the previous year. Notably, the list includes eight Polish tycoons, with rankings ranging from 398th to 1945th place in terms of wealth.
Record-Breaking Wealth
The magazine emphasized that this year’s list is the longest ever published, surpassing even the record set in 2021. Furthermore, billionaires around the globe have seen a significant surge in their fortunes, with their combined wealth reaching a staggering USD 14.2 trillion, an increase of $2 trillion from the previous year.
A notable revelation from the report is that the world’s 20 wealthiest individuals collectively added a whopping $700 billion to their wealth.
Insights from Forbes’ Billionaire Rankings
Unsurprisingly, Americans dominate the list, occupying 813 spots, followed by China with 473 entries (including Hong Kong) and India with 200 billionaires. It’s worth noting that this marks the first time that India has seen such a substantial representation on Forbes’ billionaire list.
Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, leads with USD 233 billion, while Elon Musk slipped to second place at USD 195 billion due to Tesla’s performance. Musk, owning around 74% of X, saw its value drop significantly since acquiring it as Twitter.
Jeff Bezos ranks third, followed closely by Mark Zuckerberg. Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, heir of L’Oreal, holds the title of wealthiest woman with USD 99.5 billion, securing the 15th spot.
Polish Billionaires Making Waves on Forbes’ Prestigious List
Representing Poland on this prestigious list are notable figures such as investor and financier Michał Sołowow, Tomasz Biernacki, the founder of the retail chain Dino Polska, Jerzy Starak, who has interests in the pharmaceutical industry, and Paweł Marchewka, the founder of Techland, making his debut appearance on Forbes’ list. Additionally, Zygmunt Solorz, Dominika Kulczyk, Zbigniew Juroszek, and Sebastian Kulczyk round up the list of Polish billionaires.
