Medics are going to Slovakia. Prime Minister: ‘Solidarity is Poland's export brand’

Relations between states cannot be based solely on calculations. Relations between countries also mean mutual assistance, given at a time when others need it most. Today Polish medics are moving to Slovakia – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. ‘Solidarity is Poland’s export brand,’ he stressed.

‘We want to help test the Slovaks according to their program. Especially in border areas. We want to help there so that we also have better security in connection with the pandemic,’ said the Prime Minister.

‘Solidarity is also Poland’s export brand. We have in our minds the recent action in the so-called ‘Transportation Crisis’ when the Poles went to Dover. We were able to gather dozens of medics in less than a few hours. We remember the actions when Polish firefighters helped put out fires in Sweden when Polish medics helped in Slovenia or Kyrgyzstan when we sent Polish container houses to Greece or Lebanon’ – he mentioned.

‘We know very well that calculations are one thing, and values and solidarity are an inalienable value, thanks to which the Polish brand strengthens around the world. Today, I would like to thank the Government Security Centre, as well as Dr Artur Zaczynski from the Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration, and all the medics who volunteered to help our southern neighbours’ – said Prime Minister.

He also reminded that in a few weeks we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Visegrad Group.

‘It is hard to imagine a tougher time, a time of pandemics, affecting the Visegrad Group, but Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary are working together in many fields. Together we are stronger and solidarity is not only about day-to-day activities, it is not only about assistance, but it is also one of our best export brands,’ Morawiecki stressed.

Finally, he thanked all the medics who decided to help Slovakia. ‘I am convinced that through such actions we will fight the epidemic faster together,’ he added.
