Polenergia, Poland’s leading private energy group, has inaugurated its largest photovoltaic farm to date, FF Strzelino. Located in the Pomeranian region near Słupsk, this solar power plant has a capacity of 45 MWp and will supply green energy to 24,000 households. This project is Polenergia’s fifth solar installation, increasing the company’s total renewable energy capacity to 574 MW—a 22% rise over the past year.
The FF Strzelino farm features over 73,000 state-of-the-art photovoltaic modules, alongside seven medium-voltage and one high-voltage transformer station. These are interconnected with nearly 10 kilometres of cables, ensuring efficient energy distribution. The plant’s estimated annual production of 48 GWh will meet the energy needs of the 24,000 households it serves.
“Strzelino is our largest photovoltaic project, and its strategic location ensures our wind and solar farms work seamlessly together,” said Jerzy Zań, CEO of Polenergia S.A. He emphasized that the Strzelino plant is a crucial part of Polenergia’s onshore expansion, which includes nearly 2100 MW of projects. Polenergia’s efforts are vital as Poland aims to tackle significant decarbonization challenges.
In the last year, Polenergia’s production capacity has significantly grown, marked by the launch of the 13.2 MW Piekło Wind Farm in Greater Poland and the 44 MW Grabowo Wind Farm in Podlasie. Additionally, the company has signed contracts for new photovoltaic farms, Szprotawa I and II, in the Lubusz Voivodeship, with a combined capacity of 67 MWp. Polenergia continues to expand with onshore wind projects totalling approximately 1350 MW and photovoltaic projects of nearly 700 MW, alongside the development of three offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea with Equinor, capable of up to 3000 MW.
