Kamil L., better known as the popular Polish YouTuber “Budda,” was arrested on Monday morning in Warsaw, according to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBŚP). The case will be handled by the Szczecin branch of the National Prosecutor’s Office. Alongside Budda, another individual, likely his partner Aleksandra (whom he calls “Grażyna”), was also detained. The arrest occurred near a hotel in the city center.
Following the arrest, photos and videos of Budda’s luxury cars being towed appeared on social media. There are unconfirmed reports that luxury vehicles have been confiscated in other cities as well. The CBŚP has directed further inquiries to the prosecutor’s office.
Who is Budda?
Kamil L., a 26-year-old from Kraków, gained fame for his YouTube videos, particularly in the automotive world. His channel attracted millions of views, and he was known for his charity work. In one memorable campaign, he dressed up and donated 100,000 PLN to a charity collection.
Budda also used his platform to promote lotteries, where luxury cars were among the prizes. His final YouTube appearance on October 13, a five-hour livestream, included a grand lottery with prizes worth around 8 million PLN, including luxury cars, a house in Zakopane, and a monthly salary of 10,000 PLN for the next five years.
The Future of the Lottery Prizes
During the livestream, Budda announced the winners, with the main prize—a luxury car—supposedly going to a viewer named Rafał. However, this vehicle has reportedly been seized by CBŚP, casting doubt on whether the winners will receive their prizes. Further details are expected as the investigation unfolds.
