A recent report from Inquiry reveals that cash payments in Poland are becoming less common. While 71% of respondents use a debit or credit card at least once a week, 53% rely on Blik, a mobile payment system. However, 60% still make cash payments at least weekly, primarily for services like haircuts or taxi rides.
The Rise of Digital Payments
Despite the continued use of cash, digital payments are gaining ground. E-wallets (Google Pay, Apple Pay) and Blik are growing in popularity, with 32% of transactions still made using cash. 90% of Poles are familiar with Blik, and 53% use it at least weekly. The most popular payment method remains the debit/credit card.
Trust in Digital Payment Methods
Polish consumers exhibit high trust in digital payment methods, with 80% expressing confidence in familiar platforms. Bank transfers, online payments, and cards are the most trusted, followed by Blik and e-wallets.
