Adam Bielan, an MEP from Poland’s Law and Justice Party, suggested on Republica TV that a meeting between Polish President Andrzej Duda and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump might occur before Trump’s official inauguration on January 20. This follows a brief interaction between the two leaders in Paris during the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in December.
Duda Following International Trend
Bielan highlighted that leaders like Viktor Orbán and Giorgia Meloni have already met with Trump, reinforcing the likelihood of a Duda-Trump encounter. However, he noted that no Polish prime minister has had as strained relations with an American president as the current premier.
Trump’s Inauguration to See Select Guests
Bielan remarked that figures like Donald Tusk, Vladimir Putin, and Alexander Lukashenko will not attend Trump’s inauguration. He anticipates that Duda will represent Poland soon, reflecting Poland’s strategic ties with the U.S.
