More and more hacking attacks on Polish companies. We're targeted more often than Americans

Expert reports indicate a huge and growing threat of hacking attacks on Poland. Polish businesses and offices are, particularly at risk. In the first half of this year, an average company or institution was attacked by cybercriminals over 500 times a week – reports “Rzeczpospolita”.

The journal indicates that the percentage of cyber-attacks on business, but also scientific institutions, among others, has reached a dangerous level in our country. Since the beginning of this year, there have been more attacks than in the case of organizations in the United States (in the first half of the year there were on average 443 attacks on companies and institutions per week).

“Rzeczpospolita” informs that the activity of cybercriminals in Poland has increased by 29 per cent – according to the latest Check Point report, which the newspaper publishes first. “It may come as a surprise that, according to an analysis by an Israeli company specializing in Internet security, hackers mainly target the education and research sectors.  An average institution of this type in Poland recorded over 2800 attacks per week (the leading victims include entities from the financial sector or public administration)” – we read.

“Rzeczpospolita” reports that Check Point Research’s analysis shows that the United Kingdom is at the forefront of Europe in terms of cybersecurity.  The Netherlands and Luxembourg were also on the podium.  Poland is ranked 14th, behind Serbia and Ukraine, among others.
