Max Levin was killed by Russian soldiers. Journalist was found dead

The journalist Max Levin, who disappeared at the front in the Kiev region, is dead – said on Saturday the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Andrij Jermak. The Attorny General’s Office of Ukraine stated that Avalin was killed by Russian soldiers.

“Professional photographer and journalist Max Levin was killed. He disappeared on March 13 in the fighting zone of the Kiev region. On April 1, his body was found near the village of Huta Meshirska. I’m very sad. I feel sorry for his wife and his children,” Jermak wrote on Telegram. 

 

Later, the Attorney General’s Office stated that the journalist had been killed by Russian soldiers and that proceedings had been instituted. According to initial findings, Levin was killed with two shots fired. The reporter was unarmed.

 

After Levin’s disappearance, it was reported that he was to drive a private car to the front line on 13 March and park the car near Huta Mezyhirska. The area in which the journalist was located was at that time an intense war zone.

 

The 41-year-old Levin was a photojournalist and documentary filmmaker. He has worked for Reuters and Associated Press, as well as for the BBC, the Turkish media company TRT World and the Ukrainian Internet TV Hromadske.
