The remarks by Kamila Biedrzycka concerning a security services operation at the family home of Karol Nawrocki triggered a wave of reactions. The TVP Info in liquidation employee presented her own theory about a series of false reports, suggesting the involvement of “services from the East” and indirectly placing responsibility on the president himself. Her statement quickly spread online, with internet users and politicians questioning whether her media speculation is based on inside knowledge of the case.
On Saturday evening, the situation reached a climax after a series of false emergency reports. Following anonymous alerts, first about a possible fire and then about a threat to the lives of people inside the premises, emergency services – the fire brigade and the police – forced entry by breaking down the door to the family home of President Karol Nawrocki in Gdańsk. The intervention lasted several minutes. The apartment was empty. Earlier, similar incidents had taken place at the apartment of Professor Sławomir Cenckiewicz, and even earlier at the apartment of Tomasz Sakiewicz, the CEO of TV Republika, as well as at the homes of other journalists and associates of TV Republika. Following the false report concerning a fire and a threat to life at the apartment belonging to the mother of President Karol Nawrocki, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Gdańsk launched an investigation. The case is also being handled by officers of the Central Cybercrime Bureau.
TVP Info in liquidation employee presents her “theory”
The forced entry by security services into the family apartment of President Nawrocki was one of the topics in a podcast by TVP Info in liquidation. Unexpectedly, one of the station’s employees put forward her “theory” about the incident.
“I suspect that this may simply be the work of services from the East, using, of course, the hands of willing and not very bright individuals here in Poland. And that’s it. This is a job for the Polish services, this is a job for Tomasz Siemoniak,” said Kamila Biedrzycka.
She added: “Maybe if Karol Nawrocki had not blocked promotions in the special services, this situation would not have happened, Mr President.”
Under the clip published on social media, numerous comments appeared. Internet users are wondering whether the TVP Info in liquidation employee “knows something more…”.
“Shock. So what, a conspiracy against the head of state..? This qualifies for an ex officio investigation by the legitimate prosecutor’s office,” wrote retired Colonel Mariusz Kozłowski, former officer of the Military Counterintelligence Service.
Paweł Szrot, a Law and Justice (PiS) MP, commented: “Are intelligence officers acting illegally against the President out of revenge? The journalist should be questioned. She seems to know more than what the authorities are disclosing on this matter.”
