Yesterday, a prosecutor submitted to the court a motion requesting three months of pre-trial detention for former Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro.
The politician addressed this information in an extensive post published on the X platform.

I have always acted in accordance with the law. All decisions regarding the Justice Fund (FS) were grounded in statutory provisions. Today, criminals are at the helm of power in Poland. The motion for my arrest is pure revenge from Tusk for investigations exposing the massive theft within his circle – from Nowak, through Giertych and Grodzki, to Gawłowski. It is also retaliation for proceedings concerning suspicions of corruption involving Tusk himself, Ziobro writes.
Before my case files even left the prosecutor’s office, Tusk had already announced the “verdict”. He publicly wrote that I would be arrested. He knew this before the case reached the court. In a normal state, such a thing is impossible. In authoritarian ones, like Belarus, it is all too familiar.
In the further part of his post, the former Minister of Justice states: “Tusk and his gang, violating the law, took over the prosecutor’s office. Then, breaking statutes, they seized power in the courts. Finally, they eliminated the random assignment of judges. All of this was done to have full control over who gets ‘put’ behind bars and for how long. They also refuse to recognize the rulings of the Supreme Court when they don’t suit them, as well as those of the Constitutional Tribunal, which they have paralyzed.”
“I always obey the law. But Tusk’s mafia-like actions are not the rule of law. Criminals must be resisted, not submitted to. By arresting me, Tusk would like to silence me and distract from his ineffective government for months. Just like recently, when it turned out that cancer patients are dying because the government is blocking oncology funding. Threats and harassment will not work. Soon, we will hold accountable this criminal group that currently wields power. We will do so firmly, but lawfully,” he concluded.
