A Parade Full of “Love,” so… Minister Kotula Threatened MEP Braun. “We’ll Get Them”

Katarzyna Kotula, the Minister for Equality in Donald Tusk’s government, in a burst of jubilation during yesterday’s Equality Parade, threatened Member of the European Parliament Grzegorz Braun for the “destruction” of an LGBT exhibition in the Sejm. “We’ll get them!” she thundered from the stage.

Yesterday, the Equality Parade made its way through Poland’s capital. A wave of rainbow flags, participants dressed as anthropomorphic animals, and… anti-Christian symbols—that, in short, is how one might describe the scenes in Warsaw.

Here are a few examples:

Yet the display of this “love” did not end there. Besides Rafał Trzaskowski, many other politicians from the 13 December coalition took part in the parade—among them Katarzyna Kotula, the Minister for Equality in Donald Tusk’s government.

It was Kotula who delivered a speech brimming with “tolerance,” “respect,” and “acceptance”—as she understands those terms. From the stage, standing beside Trzaskowski, she threatened MEP Grzegorz Braun for destroying the LGBT exhibition in the Sejm.

As a reminder, Marshal Szymon Hołownia banned the MEP from entering the Sejm precisely for that act.

“Dear, wonderful, beautiful, colourful people. Today we will walk through the streets of Warsaw, responding to hatred with love. We will walk through the streets of Warsaw, responding to division with community, unity, sisterhood, brotherhood. We want to show that we are one great force that says ‘no’ and ‘stop’ to Grzegorz Braun, who is destroying a beautiful, colourful, magnificent exhibition in the Sejm. We thank Marshal Hołownia, but we cannot stop there. For those who want to divide us, who want to sow hatred, who want to incite against the LGBT community, must face consequences,” —Kotula thundered, ending her speech with the words: “We’ll get them.”
