For the destruction of a monument, they face up to 8 years in prison.

Today at 9:30 a.m., near Gate No. 2 of the Gdańsk Shipyard, police officers noticed a group of people whose behavior raised suspicions. During the ID check, two of them used fire extinguishers and sprayed orange powder, contaminating the façade of a building listed in the register of monuments. The substance was also directed at officers and police cars.
Thanks to the determined response of the police, five people suspected of damaging a monument, destroying property, and aiding in the commission of a crime were immediately subdued and detained.
They were taken to the police station, where procedural activities are being carried out. At the scene, officers from the investigative group and a forensic technician collected evidence, took photographs, and conducted an inspection. Surveillance footage is also being analyzed – reported the Pomeranian Police.

“There is no tolerance for acts of vandalism and hooligan behavior, especially when monuments are the target of attack,” reported the Pomeranian Police.
It should be noted that destroying a monument carries a penalty of up to 8 years in prison. Property damage carries a penalty of 5 years, while aiding in the commission of a crime may result in up to 3 years of imprisonment.
