Adam Borowski Appeals to President Nawrocki. “You symbolize an independent and sovereign Polish state”

“All Poles who hold Poland in their hearts must send a clear signal to politicians in Brussels and Berlin that we will never again surrender even a fragment of Polish sovereignty. We will not give it up for any money, not even sums one hundred times greater than those with which the European Union tempts us today. (…) Polish patriots will not surrender the sovereignty of their Homeland, regardless of how strong the attacks are and will be from those currently in power, who have sold themselves to the interests of Germany.”

On Saturday, the Gazeta Polska clubs, led by Adam Borowski, are protesting in front of the Presidential Palace against German domination and the contracting of the SAFE loan.

In his speech, Borowski, head of the Warsaw Gazeta Polska club, appealed to President Karol Nawrocki to veto the bill implementing SAFE, which has already passed through the Sejm and the Senate.

“We are speaking out because we share all the doubts raised during the ongoing debate by experts in security, defense and finance. You are well aware of these arguments, as they were also expressed by your advisers and officials from your Chancellery,” said the head of the Warsaw Gazeta Polska club.

He warned that adopting SAFE constitutes “a deadly threat to Polish independence,” because the right to decide on Poland’s defense would fall into foreign hands, and the funds from the loan could be spent on purposes indicated by the European Commission.

“The main beneficiaries will be companies from Western countries, primarily Germany, whose government is currently preparing for major purchases of American weapons. We will be left with European equipment – mainly German – whose production will take years, perhaps even decades. At the same time, we will weaken our allied and military relations with the most powerful country in the world, the United States, on which peace in Europe and our independence depend,” Borowski said.

He described SAFE as “false security,” in which Poland would become dependent on EU bureaucracy, “oriented toward serving German interests and inclined toward political resets with Russia.”

“SAFE is a deadly threat to the very existence of our state. The ‘conditionality’ written into the project may become a tool of brutal blackmail. Just as after the adoption of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO), Poland did not receive the funds allocated to it as long as the United Right government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki was in power, which effectively opposed the migration pact, the Green Deal, climate policy and various ideological excesses promoted by the EU. At that time, we learned the true face of politicians from Berlin and Brussels, of Ursula von der Leyen and her commissioners. A brutal, cynical and deceitful face, merely dressed in false smiles,” Adam Borowski continued.

He added that the European Parliament itself had questioned the legality of the SAFE loan mechanism, and that the bill may also violate the Constitution of the Republic of Poland with regard to budgetary sovereignty.

He recalled the words of one of the fathers of independence, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, who said that “independence is not only a slogan, but also responsibility for the fate of our Homeland.”

“Guided by this maxim, the Polish independence camp, all Poles who hold Poland in their hearts, must send a clear signal to politicians in Brussels and Berlin that we will never again surrender even a fragment of Polish sovereignty. We will not give it up for any money, not even sums one hundred times greater than those with which the European Union tempts us today. Our independence has no price… because it was born of the blood sacrifice of millions of our compatriots who fought to regain it during 123 years of partitions, during the German and Soviet occupation, and in the years of communist enslavement. Polish patriots will not surrender the sovereignty of their Homeland, regardless of how strong the attacks are and will be from those currently in power, who have sold themselves to the interests of Germany,” said Adam Borowski.

He confirmed that President Karol Nawrocki can count on the Gazeta Polska Clubs in the “battle that awaits us with Tusk’s regime ruling Poland.” “We are your levy in mass, your legions ready to fight and to make sacrifices for Poland. We will follow you, because you symbolize an independent and sovereign Polish state. You symbolize the great and proud Polish Nation, strong through its heroic history and culture. Mr. President, we ask for a veto,” he concluded.
