"Clatter'56" is the event commemorating June 1956, the workers' uprising in Poznań. This year, the "Clack'56" statuettes will be awarded for the first time in Poznań on June 27. They will be awarded to people who testify with their achievements to the values in the name of which the protests in 1956 were made. The statuettes are modeled on the original workers' clogs - "okuloki".

On June 14, two young men paid with a souvenir Polish currency money bill of PLN 200 at the restaurant in Jabłonka, Lesser Poland. They were caught in one of the local shops when they to trick the salesman again. Luckily, he spotted the sign on the banknote and refused the transaction. The police were informed after the incident. Producing or using counterfeit money is a form of fraud or forgery, in this case, the value of the souvenir currency should be only sentimental or cultural.

On June 19, the opening ceremony of the Upper Silesia Pantheon took place in Katowice. One of the main Pantheon's goals is to commemorate people of merit for the Polishness of the Upper Silesia region, with particular emphasis on creators, artists, scientists, politicians, soldiers and people of the Church. The new cultural institution is to conduct cultural, scientific and educational activities in the field of the history of Upper Silesia after the end of World War I.

7th Congress 590 with the slogan “We bring everyone together”

This time, the Congress 590 will bring together topics concerning Poland and Three Seas countries in debates on strengthening economic and political relations and, above all, on strengthening the security of all countries in the region. The discussion will have a global dimension. It will be attended by international experts who for years have been analysing the greatest challenges of the contemporary world. The event will be held under the Honorary Patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.

The Centenary of joining part of Upper Silesia to Poland

June 20, 2022, is the first time we celebrate the National Day of the Silesian Uprisings. On this date, the Polish Army entered Katowice. It was the climax of several years of Polish-German struggle for Upper Silesia. Over the centuries, this region had changed its nationality more than once. Under Prussian and later German rule, it experienced a strong Germanization policy. At the beginning of the 20th century, however, the majority of inhabitants still spoke Polish.

Artists from 30 countries created one exhibition

On June 20th will take place the opening of the exhibition “Woman in Poster.” It’s a project for which almost 100 artists from 30 countries made paintings and graphics displaying their vision of womanhood. The artworks are divided into three parts that will be presented from June to October 2022. It’s organized by the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow and China Europe International Design Culture Association.

Gdansk to host EuroSkills 2023

On the 16th of June, during the WorldSkills Europe General Assembly meeting in Kraków, the host of EuroSkills 2023 was announced - the city of Gdańsk. EuroSkills is an international competition that has been held seven times so far. Next year, Poland will host the event for the first time. More than 600 best contestants from 31 countries will compete in Gdansk in 50 competitions.

The event is part of the programme of the Ministry of Education and Science "Experience". 77th anniversary of a staged Trial of the Sixteen

The Trial of the Sixteen was a staged trial of 16 leaders of the Polish Underground State (including Home Army and civil authorities) held by the Soviet authorities in Moscow in 1945 when all captives were kidnapped by the NKVD secret service and falsely accused of various forms of 'illegal activity' against the Red Army. They had been invited to help organize the new "Polish Government of National Unity" in March 1945 and were captured by NKWD.

The Polish Nobel laureates series: Albert A. Michelson

Albert A. Michelson, the son of Samuel Michelson and Rozalia Przyłubska, was born in Strelno, Posen, Kingdom of Prussia (modern-day Strzelno, Poland). As a German-born Polish American physicist, he is especially known for his work on measuring the speed of light and his Michelson–Morley experiment. He received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1907 and at the same time became the first American to win the Nobel Prize in science.
