Today marks the 195 anniversary since the first issue of "Gazeta Polska" appeared on the market. The title was brought to life at a time when our nation was oppressed by the partitioners. The magazine aimed to fight for the Polish society and did not let them forget about their identity. Nearly two centuries have passed, and the values of editors have remained the same.
Lothar Matthäus, the winner of the Ballon d’Or in 1990, was surprised by the outcome of this year's poll by France Football magazine. He expected Robert Lewandowski to win, but the Pole finished second, behind Argentine Lionel Messi. The German and British press also stressed that the captain of the Polish team deserved the Ballon d’Or.
On Saturday, Maurycy Mochnacki's funeral celebrations took place at the military cemetery in Powązki. The founder of "Gazeta Polska", a November insurgent and émigré activist was buried in Aleja Zasłużonych, next to the graves of participants of national uprisings. On his way from France to Poland, he was accompanied by the Clubs of "Gazeta Polska". It is the only Polish community that participated in the farewell ceremonies in France.
On 25-26 November this year, on the premises of the AMBEREXPO Exhibition and Congress Centre, the national SkillsPoland 2021 competition was held for the first time. The winners of the competition will represent Poland at the international WorldSkills Competition to be held on October 12-17, 2022 in Shanghai.
The competition for the European CIVIS Media Prize is now open. European programmes on addressing migration, integration, cultural diversity and – linked to this – social cohesion can be submitted up to and including 19 January 2022. The CIVIS Media Prize honours outstanding TV, radio and online productions that promote peaceful coexistence between people from different geographic and cultural backgrounds.

The Świętokrzyskie Mountains are the oldest in Poland. Erected in three different tectonic periods, they spread on the Małopolska Highlands, between the Pilica and the Vistula rivers. Their outlines are gentle and their heights are small. However, they fascinate with their unusually original structure, varied flora and animal world.
In the region of Białowieża, a group of over a hundred migrants, with the help of Belarusian services, made an attempt to force through the border again today. Some of the migrants were successful in breaking into Polish territory, but thanks to the effective response of Polish officers, they were arrested and then expelled. Two Polish soldiers suffered injuries in the clashes.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met with Prime Minister Boris Johnson in London. The main topic of the politicians' discussions was the crisis on the eastern border of the European Union. The head of the British government informed that, in the situation of the migration crisis, his country stands side by side with Poland. He also emphasized that, in terms of long-term security but also many other areas, Poland is the closest European ally of the United Kingdom in NATO.
According to the Iraqi consul in Belarus, Majid Al-Khani, two flights left today, and two more are scheduled for tomorrow. During the manufactured crisis, Belarus has detained more than 11,500 illegal migrants with around 5,000 already deported from the country.
Over the past year, the Belarusian regime and the Russian administration have signed several agreements and arrangements enhancing cooperation between Russian and Belarusian security structures. Some of these documents are directly linked to the protection of the Union State’s borders. The cooperation between Russia and Belarus plays an important role in the assessment of the events taking place at our border with Belarus.
