Trzaskowski Boasts About Participation in Military Training. Participants: “But You Weren’t There With Us!”

The Civic Platform’s presidential candidate for Poland boasted about receiving a certificate from the “Train with the Army” program, which he claimed to have completed on Saturday (April 5th). A problem has arisen, however, as participants of that very training have spoken out plainly: you weren’t there with us!

Trzaskowski posted a lengthy entry on his social media accounts in which he praised the training he purportedly completed on Saturday.

“Behind me is a full day of training as part of the ‘Train with the Army’ initiative. Those who, like me, remember the somewhat grotesque ‘defence education’ classes from school will be shocked. The knowledge was useful, the instructors were outstanding—seasoned professionals with a passion, and at the same time, really great people—serious but with a sense of humour. One can’t help but feel proud that we have such professional soldiers (who also closely observe everything happening on the modern battlefield),”

enthused the Civic Platform candidate.

“Thank you for this excellent day to the professional team from the 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade base in Wesoła. I’m also glad that during the training I met so many individuals—both women and men—interested in contributing their share to our common security. That’s truly inspiring!”

he emphasized.

Internet users pointed out that, unlike in previous instances where Trzaskowski eagerly promoted himself with photos from virtually any occasion, this time he did not take the opportunity to post even a single picture—aside from the diploma. It turned out that the 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade in Wesoła, which he mentioned by name, did in fact publish a large photo gallery—yet Trzaskowski is nowhere to be seen in any of the images.

This alone is odd but not necessarily conclusive. What makes matters worse is that participants of the training have now spoken out. When questioned, Trzaskowski admitted he was in “Group A,” but its members assert plainly: you were not with us.
