Today is the last day of the sports event in Slovakia. Surely we must admit that the 16th edition of EYOF BANSKÁ BYSTRICA 2022 is the best competition for Poles in history! Our Polish athletes won 20 medals! Check the full list of Polish medalists.
The "A drop of colour – the colours of Vodka" temporary exhibition can be admired in Polish Vodka Museum in Warsaw between July 27 and August 21. There will be a chance to learn about the colourful history of Polish liquors and get to know the diversity of our national drink through the prism of items related to vodka. If we look closer, it turns out that even the smallest and most inconspicuous objects can hide aesthetic values. During the tour, there will be an opportunity to see the previously unseen collections of the Polish Vodka Museum.
On the morning of July 28, 2022, another Polish woman managed to climb to the very top of K2, the second highest mountain in the world. Dorota Rasińska-Samoćko is now on the podium of Polish climbers who have crossed out this position from their bucket lists. Worth mentioning, Monika Witkowska reached K2 just a few days ago too.
After 4 days of the 16th EYOF, Poles have already won 10 medals: 2 gold, 2 silver, and 6 bronze. The competitions end on Saturday so we keep our fingers crossed that today our Polish athletes will have hands full of medals again!

Poles won two medals on Tuesday at the 16th #EYOF Banská Bystrica 2022 and just when it seems it can't get better, the Polish team scored three more medals yesterday. Now, we can boast with a gold and two bronze medals. High jumper Sebastian Antosiak won the first place with ease and leapt 2.06m in the competition. To sum up, after three days of the event, Poles have already won 5 medals: two gold and three bronze!

According to the channel, Polish tourists are guilty of violence against Russian tourists. The cause of the dispute was supposed to be the divergent views on Russia's aggression towards Ukraine.
On Monday, July 25 the 16th edition of Olympic Youth Festival of Europe 2022 in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia has started and it will last till July 30. The Polish Youth National Team will compete during the event in 10 categories. The first starts of our Polish representatives has already taken place and we can be proud of our swimmers. Mikołaj Filipiak took 5th place in the 400 m freestyle.
Poles have collected over PLN 23.5 million to buy a Bayraktar drone for the Ukrainian army. More than 200,000 Poles pitched in and made an online collection held on a popular Polish crowdfunding site Zrzutka.pl. The interest to contribute was so big that the site crashed 5 times yesterday and exceeded the assumed goal. Instead of assumed PLN 22.5 million, Poles have already collected PLN 23.5 million!
Polish "Prażuchy", or in other words, "Dumplings beaten with wooden pestle" is a traditional Polish dish made from potatoes combined with toasted flour. The name of the dish comes from the Polish word 'prażyć' (English: to toast). Another popular name of these delicious dumplings is "Kluchy połom bite" (English: "Dumplings beaten with a wooden pestle"). This old recipe passed down from generation to generation was entered on the list of traditional products on June 17, 2011 in the category including Traditional Silesian Dishes.

On Friday, U.S Ambassador Mark Brzezinski visited Częstochowa and The Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa on Jasna Góra. At noon, the US Ambassador to Poland was welcomed by the prior of Jasna Góra, Father Samuel Pacholski, in the convent’s courtyard. The Ambassador continues his sightseeing tour in Poland. On July 22, 2022 at 5.59 am, after the murderous climbing at night, Monika Witkowska reached the top of K2! K2 is the second highest peak of the Earth that has been so far conquered by only 36 women.36 years ago, Wanda Rutkiewicz was the first Polish woman who managed to do it. Now, Monika Witkowska is the second woman from Poland who has achieved this success and stood at 8,611 meters above sea level!
'Weekend with the Army' event - from 13 to 15 August, Poles celebrate the Polish Army Day and the 102nd anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw. For this weekend, the Ministry of National Defense and the Polish Army have planned numerous state, patriotic, religious, cultural and entertainment events in various towns and cities. The events will take place at local military units, squares, parks and streets.
After 9 years of intensive study, a cardiologist and researcher from Jagiellonian University, Mateusz Hołda obtained the title of Professor before turning 30 years old. On July 4, he has achieved the title in Medical College Faculty of Medicine at Jagiellonian University in Cracow. Previously, the title of the youngest person has been accomplished by Prof. Krzysztof Sośnica from the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences at the age of 35.
