June 28, the National Day of Remembrance of Poznań June 1956 Events

The main factory siren in the Joseph Stalin Poznań Metal Works (ZISPO, then called the Hipolit Cegielski Metal Works) was a signal for workers to start a demonstration against poor wages and deteriorating working conditions in 1956. It was something that the present authorities could not ignore.
