Ambassador Rose greets Poles: “Standing with Poland means putting America first”

“The strength of America lies in our friends and allies around the world. But among them, Poland holds a special place, because Poland is more than an ally. Poland is family,” said the new U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Thomas Rose, in a video marking the start of his mission in Poland.

In early November, President Karol Nawrocki accepted the credentials of the new U.S. ambassador to Poland, Thomas Rose.

U.S. President Donald Trump appointed Rose as the new ambassador to Poland in February. In September, he received the backing of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Today, in a video shared on social media, the new ambassador introduced himself to Poles.

“It is a great honor and an immense responsibility entrusted to me by the wonderful President of the United States, asking me to represent him and the American people in Poland. By strengthening Poland’s energy security, defense cooperation, and economic growth, we are putting America first,” the post read.

“Poland is family”

In the several-minute video, Rose once again thanked Trump for his nomination.

“The strength of America lies in our friends and allies around the world. But among them, Poland holds a special place, because Poland is more than an ally. Poland is family. From the Polish patriots who fought alongside our Founding Fathers during the American Revolution to the tens of millions of Polish Americans who have enriched every aspect of life in the United States,” said the ambassador.

He noted that “our two great nations are united by faith, shared values, and a commitment to defending freedom at any cost.”

“This has a deeply personal meaning for me. All four of my grandparents were either born here in Poland or were the children of poor immigrants who had just come to America from Poland,” Rose said.

“That’s why President Trump loves Poland so much”

He emphasized that “the Polish people are perhaps the most patriotic, proud, hardworking, and honorable nation in the world. Your resilience, perseverance, and generosity are truly unique.”

“That’s why President Trump loves Poland – and the Polish nation – so much, because he knows your history and your values,” said Tom Rose.

He added that the Polish-American partnership creates new opportunities for Polish businesses.

“And that’s where America steps in”

“Poland knows its history better than anyone else – it will never again be dependent for energy on those who use it as a weapon. And that’s where America steps in. Poland is one of the top customers of America’s rapidly expanding LNG exports. It is also a major customer and partner of the U.S. modern commercial nuclear energy sector – and that cooperation will continue to grow,” said the ambassador.

“Poland is not only one of the fastest-growing economies in the world but also one of the most advanced – from digital innovation and artificial intelligence, advanced robotics to modern manufacturing,” he added.

Rose pointed out that Poland is also making progress in modern agriculture.

“A stronger Poland means a stronger America. Standing with Poland means putting America first,” he stressed.

He once again highlighted President Donald Trump’s deep interest in Polish history.

“For a long time, he has praised the indomitable spirit of the Polish nation – the same spirit that defeated the worst forms of tyranny, endured half a century of oppressive communism, and continues to inspire people around the world. And of course, it inspires me as well. The same spirit that has defined Poland for a thousand years endures to this day: unbroken, strong, and ever rising,” he said.

Thomas Rose emphasized that Poland and the United States together embody the idea of “peace through strength,” so that “both great nations may enjoy growing prosperity, freedom, and security for generations to come.”

The ambassador declared that he “cannot wait to travel across Poland and meet its people.”
