TV Republika CEO Tomasz Sakiewicz has announced the creation of the Association of Friends of Republika. According to him, the aim of the initiative is to build a community around the station, support its development as an independent media outlet, and offer members practical benefits, including an attractive insurance package.
In a published statement, Tomasz Sakiewicz explained the premises of the new initiative. “We are launching the Association of Friends of Republika – an initiative aimed at building a strong community around the values close to our viewers and supporting the development of TV Republika as an independent medium,” he wrote.
The head of the station stressed that an equally important goal is to support members themselves by offering practical benefits. “The first project will be the possibility of taking advantage of an attractive insurance offer prepared especially for members of the Association. In the next stages, we want to expand the catalogue of benefits and initiatives responding to the needs of our community,” he announced.
“This is not a political party”
In the statement, Sakiewicz clearly indicated what the association is not. “The Association is not a political party or an organisation engaged in political activity. Nor was it established to replace or duplicate the work of the Gazeta Polska Clubs,” he wrote.
He added that the two initiatives are intended to complement each other. “On the contrary, we want both communities to complement and strengthen one another, creating an even larger community of people engaged in matters important to Poland and freedom of speech,” the head of TV Republika emphasised.
How to join
The statement also explained how people can join the association. There are two possible ways. The first is a dedicated hotline at (+48) 785 580 580, where consultants are to answer questions, present the idea and membership rules, and guide interested individuals through the entire process of joining.
The second option is the website stowarzyszenieprzyjaciolrepubliki.pl, which contains information about the organisation’s mission and goals, as well as a form allowing people to express their wish to join.
Sakiewicz also appealed to viewers and supporters of the station to encourage others to join and to direct them to the official recruitment channels.
“A strong community”
The CEO of TV Republika expressed his belief that the initiative would make it possible to build a broad circle of committed people. “I am convinced that, through our joint involvement, we will build a strong community of people who not only want to identify with TV Republika, but also actively support its development and take part in initiatives serving Poland and freedom of speech,” Tomasz Sakiewicz wrote.
