“Solidarity is a genuine, model trade union, and at the same time a social movement that takes care of workers’ and social issues,” said former President Andrzej Duda on Sunday in the BHP Hall of the Gdańsk Shipyard.
In his speech, Andrzej Duda emphasized that Solidarity is also a social movement that looks after “those proverbial weaker ones who live in more difficult conditions, but in fact also the entirety of the Republic of Poland, which should develop on the principles of a social market economy, and not liberal freedom that will support only those who are already doing well.”
“Solidarity does not expect anything more from politicians. Only that they will take care of workers’ and social issues, because from the point of view of Solidarity this is the most important matter, and in fact it expresses the whole majority of the system of values that a modern, true state should reflect. A state in which there is a place for every citizen,“ said the former president.
Andrzej Duda also informed that he had held talks with the chairman NSZZ Solidarity, Piotr Duda, who told him that he would like to continue working together.
