Another Attempt at Railway Sabotage? Police Detain 25-Year-Old Moldovan Citizen

The Lublin police have announced the detention of a 25-year-old Moldovan citizen. The man stopped a train and was found carrying documents in Russian.

Today, shortly before 4:00 p.m., at the railway station in Puławy, police officers on duty as part of Operation TOR detained the 25-year-old Moldovan national. The man was apprehended after activating the hand brake in a freight wagon of a train operating on the Szczecin–Dorohusk route,” the statement said.

It was added that at the time of the detention, the 25-year-old was located between the wagons. Officers discovered a bag in his possession containing, among other items, mobile phones, electronic equipment, SIM cards, a power bank, and documents written in Russian.

“The National Prosecutor’s Office, the Military Counterintelligence Service, the regional branch of the Internal Security Agency, and the Central Bureau of Investigation of the Police have been notified of the incident. Police officers from the Voivodeship Police Headquarters in Lublin are also present at the scene. Activities at the site are ongoing,” the police reported.

The officers who carried out the intervention were on duty as part of Operation TOR together with a soldier from the Territorial Defence Forces and an officer of the Railway Protection Guard.
