Another Sex Scandal in the Police? This Time an Officer from Wołów Detained

The Lower Silesian police have announced the detention of an officer from the District Police Headquarters in Wołów. The decision was made after another female officer reported the possibility of “an act from the catalogue of crimes against sexual freedom” having been committed against her.

“Procedural activities are currently underway involving both the reporting party and the detained officer, aimed at clarifying all the circumstances of this situation,” the uniformed services stated on the X platform.

Unofficial findings in the case were reported by RMF FM. According to the broadcaster, the two officers in question were on night duty together—they were patrol partners.

“In the evening, they drove a police car to the Oder River. Before the end of their shift, they shared a meal at a petrol station, and then returned to their homes. The following day, the policewoman reported that her patrol partner had committed an offense against her sexual freedom,” the station reported.

A Series of Scandals

The incident appears to be part of an unfortunate series of scandals within the police force. At the beginning of the year, public opinion was shaken by the rape of a young policewoman at the premises of the Police Prevention Unit in Warsaw, in the barracks in Piaseczno. However, this is not an isolated case.

As reported at the end of January by tvrepublika.pl, during the two years of General Marek Boroń’s tenure as Police Commander-in-Chief, six police officers have been charged with offenses involving coercing sexual intercourse or submitting to another sexual act, as well as abusing a position of dependency in order to bring about such acts.
