Artist Outraged by Government Censorship: “We’ll Kick You Out and Wipe the Smirk Off Your Face” – Listen to the Protest Song!

Krzysztof Konieczka, known by the pseudonym “Zyziu,” has released a fiery protest song denouncing government censorship. In his latest piece, he rails against the authorities for restricting free speech and artistic expression. With lyrics like, “In our Bantustan, ladies and gentlemen, the government is cracking down on censorship… Hey liquidator, red specter, our great censor, like Sauron in Mordor”, Konieczka’s song takes aim at those suppressing independent voices.

The controversy follows the removal of the popular YouTube program “Interviews with a Hooligan” by Piotr Lisiewicz, which had been produced for eight years in collaboration with TV Republika and Radio Poznań. The decision to erase its archives was reportedly made by Piotr Michalak, a former communist and the liquidator of Radio Poznań, who has been accused of acting unlawfully.

Konieczka, a musician from the band Lebioda, as well as a poet and performance artist, uses his song to rally against censorship. Lyrics such as “Stop censorship, stop censorship, let’s stir up a storm against these thugs. Let free thought spread, and let these cronies tremble” reflect his defiance and determination to fight for free expression.

The song also calls out Michalak’s controversial past, including his association with communist organizations and his boastful recovery of a Stalinist banner from 1953. In a biting verse, Konieczka sings, “We’ll kick you out and wipe the smirk off your face when you fly over the Bug straight into Putin’s arms.”
