Attack on Mentzen and Nawrocki. Confederation candidate responds to reports

Sławomir Mentzen published a strong post on social media addressing reports about the possible illegal online financing of Rafał Trzaskowski’s campaign.

Courts in Romania disqualified a candidate – is Poland next?

Mentzen began his post by referencing events in Romania, where anti-establishment candidate Călin Georgescu was recently excluded from the presidential elections due to alleged illegal foreign funding. The Confederation leader pointed out that the funding was reportedly linked to a party associated with the European People’s Party, which also includes Poland’s Civic Platform (Platforma Obywatelska).

Mentzen suggested that the situation resembles actions taken against him and IPN President Karol Nawrocki in Poland:
“Following the Romanian method, I should now be excluded from the elections,” the politician quipped sarcastically.

Mentzen sharply criticized Donald Tusk, accusing him of hypocrisy:
“For weeks, Tusk has been claiming that Russia will illegally influence the elections. Then it turns out that the online campaign defaming and slandering me and Nawrocki is indeed illegal—but it’s being run by Civic Platform, not Russia,” he emphasized.
