Bąkiewicz responded to Szłapka’s words: “Liars must be held accountable”

“After the public lies and accusations by Adam Szłapka – the spokesperson of Tusk‘s government – I am taking legal action against him,” Robert Bąkiewicz, initiator of the Border Defence Movement, announced on social media. The ruling coalition has been systematically attacking the Border Defence Movement ever since its members began guarding Poland’s borders, documenting the migrant crossings from Germany into Poland.

Moreover, a political hunt has started against the initiator of ROG – Robert Bąkiewicz. Yesterday, information reached the public that he is reportedly facing charges of insulting officers of the Border Guard and the Military Gendarmerie at the Polish-German border in Słubice. Although prosecutors from Gorzów Wielkopolski had doubts about the case, the order to press charges came “from above” – from the regional prosecutor in Szczecin. Now the case prosecutor has no choice but to file the charges.

Szłapka versus Bąkiewicz

On December 13, many leading politicians of the coalition repeatedly launched attacks both against the border defenders and Robert Bąkiewicz himself. One example is Marcin Kierwiński, the newly appointed head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration (MSWiA). But also among them is the government spokesperson – Adam Szłapka. Whether in written or spoken form, as he did yesterday on the Polsat News broadcast.

“It’s high time nobody insults officers with impunity. I need to check these proceedings as well, but there are more ongoing or should be more ongoing. Certainly, there should be cases of impersonating officers because what he did at the border is simply scandalous,” he said.

He went on to say: “He is a cynic, a hypocrite, a liar, a person who functions in public life and in any professional capacity only because he is a puppet of PiS. He received assignments from them, previously got paid, and sows disinformation and confusion.”

Bąkiewicz’s reaction

Robert Bąkiewicz did not remain silent. Late in the evening, he posted on social media that in response to the spokesperson of Tusk‘s government, he will take legal steps against him.

“After the public lies and accusations by Adam Szłapka – the spokesperson of Tusk‘s government – I am taking legal action against him,” he wrote on x.com.

And he added: “There is no and will be no tolerance for slander. Liars must be held accountable, not let off for public villainy.”
