Behind the scenes of the hunt for Zbigniew Ziobro. This is the pretext under which his arrest is to take place

“Prosecutors say that we live in a country where such a thing is possible, that those in power are actually capable of carrying out such an operation, driven by the belief that bringing me before the commission in such a spectacular manner will be yet another part of Tusk’s political show, designed to demonstrate that ‘Law and Justice (PiS) is full of criminals’,” commented Zbigniew Ziobro, former Minister of Justice, in response to the findings of the Niezalezna.pl portal.

According to Niezalezna.pl, the prosecutor’s office has decided that former Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro will be arrested immediately upon crossing the border and held by the authorities until Friday’s vote in the Sejm regarding his parliamentary immunity. The team led by Waldemar Żurek reportedly intends to justify this blatant breach of the law as a case of “higher necessity” and a fear of flight.

Ziobro himself commented on these findings live on TV Republika.

“If we lived in a normal country, such information would seem like pure fiction – a fantasy straight out of commentary with no connection to reality. Unfortunately, we live in a country ruled by a gang that has repeatedly shown that it holds the law in contempt, applying it only ‘as it understands it’. I, too, have received information from a credible source suggesting that such a situation might indeed take place, that under the pretext of some alleged act supposedly committed in flagrante delicto, or under the pretext of slander, I would be arrested immediately afterward. This would allow them to bypass the procedures related to parliamentary immunity,” said Ziobro.

“I don’t know whether the goal is to prevent me from appearing before the commission – to stop me from presenting arguments that would prove this entire case to be a massive lie and a farce, meant to justify lifting my immunity and fabricating false charges – or whether the point is to drag me before the commission in handcuffs, thus turning it into a political spectacle,” he added.

“Tusk is ready for such stagings”

He admitted that he had discussed the entire matter with his prosecutor colleagues.

“They say that we live in a country where this is possible, where those in power are actually capable of carrying out such an operation, driven by the belief that bringing me before the commission in such a spectacular manner will be yet another part of Tusk’s political show, designed to demonstrate that ‘Law and Justice (PiS) is full of criminals’,” Ziobro pointed out.

“Criminal Tusk and his gang want to project their own behavior onto people who actually fought against crime, and he is even ready for such theatrical setups. They already once violated international immunity by detaining Mr. Marcin Romanowski in defiance of international obligations, which led to an international scandal, an intervention by the Council of Europe, and only then was the matter brought back on the right track. This is a government that does not hesitate to commit crimes,” he added.
