CBZC Exposes 139 Fake Fundraisers for Flood Relief

The Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime (CBZC) has uncovered 139 fraudulent fundraising campaigns allegedly aimed at helping flood victims. These deceptive campaigns, many with signs of criminal intent, have been revealed as part of a larger investigation into online scams related to the ongoing flood crisis in Poland. In addition to these false fundraisers, CBZC has identified 36 social media accounts spreading misinformation, potentially affecting public safety.

How to Avoid Cyber Scams Targeting Flood Relief

CBZC warns the public to stay vigilant against various forms of cyber fraud, including fake messages from the Government Security Center (RCB) and compromised social media accounts. Fraudsters often create alarming headlines featuring images of endangered children or animals to lure people into clicking malicious links. These links lead to phishing sites designed to steal sensitive login information. The authorities urge citizens to verify any RCB alerts directly through their official website and report suspicious activities to CBZC via email or online at CERT.
