Błaszczak: Government Completely Lost in Narrative on Military Exercises

The government has completely lost its way in the narrative on military exercises. Tusk talks about the “Swiss model” – a compulsory solution. Meanwhile, Kosiniak-Kamysz says there will be no compulsion. This was stated on X by former Defense Minister and PiS MP Mariusz Błaszczak.

It Will End with Just Talk

On Friday in the Sejm, Donald Tusk presented information on the international situation and Poland’s security, emphasizing that Poland should have a half-million-strong army, including reservists. He also informed that “preparatory work is underway for large-scale military training for every adult man in Poland.”

As Mariusz Błaszczak writes on X, in the context of the exercises, Tusk talks about the “Swiss model” – a compulsory solution, while Kosiniak-Kamysz says there will be no compulsion.

“You know how this will most likely end? As usual with Tusk – only with announcements. That’s why he said that the training model will be ready only by the end of the year – so that everyone will have time to forget about it,” Błaszczak assessed.

Compulsory Draft as a Last Resort

The former Defense Minister also writes that “compulsory draft is a last resort,” but he points out that currently, “the government is struggling with recruitment – they are not able to accept most of the people who apply for service.”
