The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) has issued widespread warnings for snowdrifts, blizzards, and heavy snowfall across most of the country. In some areas, snow cover may increase by 50 cm, locally up to 60 cm, while coastal regions are expected to face strong winds. In response, the Government Security Centre (RCB) has issued alerts for the West Pomeranian and Pomeranian voivodeships.
On Saturday, IMGW warnings for intense snowfall were issued for parts of the West Pomeranian, Lubusz, and Greater Poland voivodeships, with snow cover expected to increase by 10-15 cm. In West Pomerania, the warnings will resume on Sunday morning and last until midnight.
The highest, Level III warnings were issued for several northern counties, including Koszalin, Sławno, Słupsk, Bytów, and Lębork, where 30-50 cm of snow is expected, locally up to 60 cm, from Sunday morning until Monday.
RCB alerts for heavy snowfall and strong winds apply to parts of West Pomeranian and Pomeranian regions, warning of difficult road conditions and possible power outages. These alerts will remain in force on Sunday and Monday (4-5 January).
Lower-level IMGW warnings remain active in other regions, including parts of Pomerania, Lower Silesia, and north-western Poland, with snowfall expected to add 10–40 cm of snow. Additional Level I and II warnings for snowdrifts, blizzards, and strong winds have been issued across central and eastern regions, with wind gusts reaching up to 85 km/h along the coast.
Most warnings will remain in effect through Sunday night or Monday morning, depending on the region.
