“Incredible scenes! You have to understand that this is far more than just lighting flares. This is the Polish spirit! Unbroken! We have been oppressed many times, under occupation, and subjected to genocide. And yet here we are! We still exist! Something beautiful!” – this is how he described the latest Independence March in English to viewers around the world. The popular YouTuber and traveler Hektik Hektor was a guest last night of Piotr Lisiewicz on “Wywiad z chuliganem” on TV Republika.
His parents left Poland for Australia in 1981, and he was born on the other side of the globe. Raised in a dangerous neighborhood in western Sydney, he spent nine years traveling the world. He lived in some of the world’s most dangerous Brazilian slums, the favelas, and was in Asia, Israel, Palestine, and Lebanon.
But he chose his parents’ homeland – Poland, as his place of residence, a country whose heroic history he came to know and love. Now he shows it to the entire world, including Poland’s Independence Marches, correcting media falsehoods, the Three Kings’ Parades, and recently even… snow, which Australia lacks outside its high mountains.
As Hektik Hektor says, there is still freedom in Poland, and it is still possible to demonstrate national pride. “In Australia, far-left organizations are crossing a dangerous line when it comes to fighting freedom of speech. Here I feel like I can breathe! Give me a flare!” he shouted during his conversation with Piotr Lisiewicz.
He has visited half the countries in the world and knows many dangerous places, which is why he believes illegal immigrants must not be allowed in. He took part in protests of the Border Defense Movement. “If you’re from Poland, then damn respect to you,” he recently heard at a Patriots’ march in England. “We must be proud of Poland and not let ourselves be deprived of what we have,” Hektik Hektor appeals.
The full conversation aired last night on TV Republika.
