Cenckiewicz in the Crosshairs of the Ruling Party. President Nawrocki’s Administration Ready for All Scenarios

“We will handle this,” said Zbigniew Bogucki, head of the Chancellery of the President of Poland, speaking on TV Republika about the attacks on the head of the National Security Bureau (BBN), Sławomir Cenckiewicz.

The government side is pushing a narrative that Sławomir Cenckiewicz has been stripped of his security clearance to access classified information, which they claim is tantamount to downgrading the rank of the National Security Bureau. On the day before Karol Nawrocki’s swearing-in as President of Poland, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister filed cassation complaints with the Supreme Administrative Court against the rulings of the Warsaw Provincial Administrative Court of June 17 of this year — rulings which had allowed Cenckiewicz to win his legal battle.

Recently, TV Republika reported that officers of the Internal Security Agency and the Military Counterintelligence Service are expected to enter the Presidential Palace.

What is the president’s position on this situation? — asked Tomasz Sakiewicz on the TV Republika program Polityczna Kawa. His guest was Zbigniew Bogucki, head of the Chancellery of the President.

“We are dealing with a very clear legal situation, and I say this also as a lawyer. The court ruling essentially invalidated that decision. Of course, there is an extraordinary complaint to the Supreme Administrative Court, but the regulations are unambiguous. This decision formally remains in force but has no legal effect. And since it has no legal effect, Professor Cenckiewicz, as head of the National Security Bureau, retains access to the most highly classified materials,” Bogucki replied.

Bogucki further pointed out that it was Cenckiewicz who had exposed the pathologies of these agencies during the “reset” with Russia carried out by Donald Tusk’s government. “At a time when there was a memo allowing cooperation between Polish services and Russian special services. The list is long,” he added, assuring: “Today, these people are trying to take personal revenge on Professor Cenckiewicz. We, as the administration of the new president, will handle this. We have worked through all possible scenarios.”

“The dogs bark, the caravan moves on!” Bogucki concluded.
