“Nawrocki has a hooligan-style approach to parliament. He vetoes without reading,” said Dariusz Joński, an MEP from the Civic Coalition (KO), on air on TVP Info in liquidation. Asked why his party rejected the president’s invitation and did not appear at the Presidential Palace, he stated that “it was a show.”
On Thursday, President Karol Nawrocki hosted representatives of parliamentary clubs and groups at the Presidential Palace. Politicians from the Civic Coalition (KO) and The Left declined the invitation.
Presidential spokesperson Rafał Leśkiewicz spoke about the president’s talks with MPs on Radio Zet. He pointed out that they were substantive, as participants in the meetings with the president also said.
“It was a great opportunity for representatives of these clubs to present some of their ideas and needs, but also key issues related to the problems troubling Poles, who are voters of these groups, in order to show the president a different perspective,” he assessed.
He also referred to the explanations given by politicians who did not take part in the talks. “I see these convoluted explanations from the Civic Coalition (KO) and The Left. Yesterday, Minister Nowacka said on one of the TV programs that the coalition is not accepting the invitation because the president has no constitutional or statutory prerogatives that would allow him to meet with representatives of political groups,” he said.
Joński: it was a show
Although several days have passed since the meetings at the Presidential Palace, coalition politicians who did not attend are still pursuing the topic. Today on TVP Info in liquidation, Dariusz Joński, an MEP from the Civic Coalition (KO), was asked why the party did not send its representative to the talks. Instead of an answer, viewers of the channel in liquidation heard another attack on President Nawrocki.
“Nawrocki has a hooligan-style approach to parliament. He vetoes without reading. What bothered him about a new national park in Poland? What bothered him about wind turbines and lower energy prices in Poland?” Joński stated.
When the question was asked again, he replied that the meetings at the Presidential Palace were “a show.”
“He invited over 200 MPs and senators from Law and Justice (PiS), and just a handful from other clubs. Three days have passed. What came of that meeting? Nothing. Does Nawrocki want to cooperate? Then let him read the bills!” he retorted.

„Nawrocki ma kibolski styl traktowania parlamentu. Wetuje bez czytania, co mu przeszkadzał nowy park narodowy i wiatraki? Chce współpracować Nawrocki? Niech czyta ustawy!”
I cyk kolejne weto niedługo a Joński znowu w ryk ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) pic.twitter.com/wS0V3oRkQF
