Concert of Christmas Carols in the Frombork Cathedral

On Christmas Eve, TVP1 will broadcast a Concert of Christmas Carols from the Frombork Cathedral. As in previous years, pastorals and Christmas songs were sung by the greatest stars of the Polish music scene.

The concert was recorded in Frombork on December 7. Frombork Cathedral or the Archcathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Andrew is on Poland’s official national Historic Monuments List (Pomnik historii), designated on 16 September 1994. It comes under the National Heritage Board of Poland.

Due to the need to prepare the Cathedral for this event, services from December 2 to 9 have been held in the church of St. Wojciech.

The broadcast of the Concert of Christmas Carols will be shown on TVP1 and TVP NAUKA on Christmas Eve, as well as on the first and second day of Christmas.

Singing of Christmas carols is the adoration of God and Poles do it every Holy Mass during Christmas. On December 28, after Holy Mass at 5 p.m., there will be an opportunity to sing Christmas carols together in the historic, neo-gothic New Bishop’s Palace in Frombork.

The Frombork Cathedral also invites you to the traditional 8th Frombork Procession of the Three Kings, whose constant and indispensable element is singing carols together in the streets of the city.
