Confidential Sejm Session: Tusk Challenges TV Republika’s CPAC Ties, Sakiewicz Reports Surveillance

“I was the target of intensive surveillance. One of the reasons was that we supported CPAC and secured a sponsor for it – a legal entity registered in European countries and in the USA,” said Tomasz Sakiewicz, president of TV Republika, in an interview with Niezalezna.pl. According to the findings, during today’s closed session of the Sejm, Prime Minister Donald Tusk once again tried to use insinuations to attack independent media, especially TV Republika.

Niezalezna.pl has established unofficially that Prime Minister Donald Tusk – during the closed session of the Sejm – spoke, among other things, about the sponsorship of CPAC Poland by Zondacrypto. Using what were described as absurd speculations, he is said to have mentioned TV Republika several times.

After the confidential part of the Sejm session ended, opposition MPs stated clearly that they do not doubt that Tomasz Sakiewicz, president of TV Republika, “is being surveilled by the security services.”

“This is being used for a brutal, primitive political game. Today, the security services are being used for political warfare,” Bartosz Kownacki emphasized in the Sejm.

Sakiewicz confirms the findings

Niezalezna.pl contacted the head of the station for comment. Tomasz Sakiewicz confirmed the findings.

“I was the target of intensive surveillance. One of the reasons was that we supported CPAC and secured a sponsor for it – a legal entity registered in European countries and the USA,”

said Tomasz Sakiewicz, president of TV Republika, in an interview with Niezalezna.pl.

“What Tusk is doing is an attempt to cover up the catastrophe in the healthcare system and to divert attention from current problems. Instead of specifics, it only came out that journalists are being surveilled,”

Sakiewicz added.

Continued attacks

Reports from the Sejm are connected to attacks on TV Republika that began shortly after the first edition of CPAC Poland. Earlier, the prosecutor’s office demanded from the station recordings and contact details of participants and speakers at the conference.
