Could PiS Soon Return to Power? Even Some Supporters of the Ruling Coalition Think So

According to a new poll by United Surveys for IBRiS, a majority of Poles believe that Law and Justice (PiS) has a chance to return to power after the 2027 parliamentary elections. More than 67 percent of respondents share this opinion. Interestingly, even some supporters of the current ruling coalition doubt its ability to hold on to power.

The survey was commissioned by Wirtualna Polska. Respondents were asked whether Law and Justice has a chance to regain power after the 2027 parliamentary elections.

In total, 67.5 percent of those surveyed chose “yes.” The largest group consisted of people who answered “rather yes” (47.7 percent). Almost one in five respondents (19.8 percent) selected “definitely yes.” Altogether, 22.2 percent disagreed with the idea of PiS returning to power (17.9 percent chose “rather not,” and 4.3 percent “definitely not”). Over 10 percent of Poles had no opinion.

Uncertainty Among Ruling Coalition Voters

Despite being in power, a significant portion of the ruling coalition voters are uncertain about the durability of the current arrangement. When asked whether PiS could return to power in two years, 57 percent of coalition voters said yes (3 percent “definitely yes,” 54 percent “rather yes”). Meanwhile, 32 percent were more inclined to say that PiS would not return to power (23 percent “rather not,” 9 percent “definitely not”). Eleven percent had no opinion, according to the survey.

It was emphasized that among opposition voters, the belief in PiS’s ability to regain power prevails. Eighty-one percent (39 percent “definitely yes,” 42 percent “rather yes”) believe PiS will return in 2027. Fifteen percent do not see such a possibility (14 percent answered “rather not,” and 1 percent “definitely not”). Among supporters of other parties, the situation looks somewhat different: 54 percent think PiS has a chance of returning (5 percent “definitely yes,” 49 percent “rather yes”), while 23 percent think it is impossible (19 percent “rather not,” 4 percent “definitely not”). Another 23 percent have no opinion.

The United Surveys by IBRiS poll for Wirtualna Polska was conducted on October 24-26, 2025, using the CATI & CAWI methods, on a sample of 1,000 adult Poles.
