CPK will diversify the way Poles can commute

Thanks to the CPK (Polish: “Centralny Port Komunikacyjny”), Poles will have a new way of transport between Warsaw and the largest Polish cities in 2028.

The CPK is a planned transfer hub between Warsaw and Lodz, which will integrate air, rail, and road transport. The development envisages the construction of the Solidarity Airport located 37 km west of Warsaw and covering an area of 3,000 ha. During the first stage, the airport will handle 40 million passengers a year.

The CPK will include railway investments: railway nod in the airport’s close vicinity, as well as railway connections within Poland which will enable a transfer between Warsaw and the largest Polish cities in less than 2.5 hours. The investment should employ over 150,000 people. The Airport City will be created within the STH’s proximity and will include fair, congress and conference centres, R&D facilities, as well as offices.

“Completion of construction and construction works is planned for 2027. The first technical flight, test flights, certifications. And somewhere in 2028 a commercial opening for passengers”.

said Marcin Horała, the Government Plenipotentiary for the CPK.
