“I’ve said this many times before and I will gladly say it again – I do not speak with the station you represent. In simple terms, I will put it this way: I do not speak with a media hate machine, and I consider your station to be a media hate machine,” this is how Włodzimierz Czarzasty launched an attack on TV Republika today in the Sejm. It began with a question about whether the Deputy Speaker would apologize to viewers for offensive remarks made in April.
At the end of April, Deputy Speaker Włodzimierz Czarzasty met with students at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań to discuss “international politics”, as stated on the Sejm Chancellery’s website.
However, the conversation also turned to the issue of TV Republika.
“I am a grown man. With TV Republika… I do not talk to a hate machine. That’s it. I do not talk to a hate machine”, he said during the meeting with young Poles.
He continued, making what TV Republika described as false claims regarding a pedophilia and zoophilia scandal in Kłodzko.
“If there is a situation where on TV Republika I see Deputy Speaker Wielichowska, I hear journalists in the Sejm and what they say. There was a known scandal involving zoophilia and terrible things that happened in Lower Silesia. The fundamental question is this: ‘when you go out with a dog, are you acting as a caretaker or a partner?’ And I’m supposed to talk to them? Never. A hate machine. Simply a hate machine”, Czarzasty thundered.
TV Republika stated in response that “Such a question has never been asked by TV Republika journalists. We have never suggested guilt or co-responsibility of Deputy Speaker Monika Wielichowska in the zoophilia-pedophilia scandal. We asked about facts and media reports, and it is the role of a journalist to ask questions”, as heard in the station’s main evening program Dzisiaj.
“Will You Apologize?!”
Today, shortly before the Sejm session began, during a press conference, a TV Republika journalist asked Włodzimierz Czarzasty whether he would apologize for his earlier remarks made during the student meeting. He responded with another wave of attacks against the station and its viewers.
“I’ve said this many times before and I will gladly say it again – I do not speak with the station you represent. Because you incite hatred against people, you insult people, you drive people into emotional extremes, you make them feel bad. In simple terms, I will tell you this: I do not speak with a media hate machine, and I consider your station to be a media hate machine”, he said.
He did not stop there. “I am saying this clearly and precisely. And I want to tell you that I will not be provoked in any matters related to you, because I simply do not respect you. And I am a politician who cannot be thrown off balance, so don’t even try”, he added.
