Although the public broadcaster is drowning in debt and its employees complain about unpaid salaries, TVP in liquidation plans to party on Halloween in a luxurious Warsaw nightclub – a place where a single drink costs as much as a meal in a good restaurant. And since we’re talking about money, one can’t help but ask – perhaps rhetorically, but still – who will foot the bill for this lavish all-night celebration?
A Party for… Halloween
Despite the fact that TVP in liquidation has been struggling with financial troubles for months, it appears that its representatives are in the mood for some… entertainment. As journalist Marcin Dobski revealed, TVP plans to celebrate Halloween in one of the most exclusive clubs in Warsaw!
“TVP in liquidation will be partying at the luxury nightclub SEN during Halloween – all on your money,”
Dobski wrote on X.
The news immediately sparked a wave of comments. Many internet users are asking whether it’s appropriate for a publicly funded company to host a party in such an expensive venue.
Millions in Losses and…
Let’s recall that TVP has long been under fire. According to financial reports, in 2024 the company recorded a net loss of around 238 million złoty, even though it continued to receive massive subsidies from the state budget and revenue from the license fee.
It is also no secret that many collaborators reportedly complained about delayed payments, and the broadcaster itself – as revealed by Business Insider – had to spread its debts into installments stretching all the way to 2027.
All of this makes the news of a Halloween party in a luxury club look quite unseemly. And not only for viewers or employees still waiting for their overdue pay, but for all of us – the taxpayers. Because when it comes to who will finance a night of revelry until dawn, the answer seems fairly obvious.
The Venue: SEN Warsaw
To make matters even more interesting, the party is said to take place at SEN Warsaw, one of the most expensive venues in the capital. It’s located at 6 Wioślarska Street – right on the Vistula River, with a view of the Poniatowski Bridge and the National Stadium.
This venue is known for its lavish events, fashionable clientele, and prices that make your head spin. On its official website, the club has announced a grand “Halloween Horror Story” event lasting two full days.
Guests can expect a unique décor, live music, and – of course – drinks that can cost as much as a fine dinner in a good restaurant!
