Referring to reports by Rzeczpospolita, the National Security Bureau announced that the President of the Republic of Poland Karol Nawrocki expects the Government to urgently clarify the incident in the town of Wyryki. It was stated that the president had not been informed by the government about the details of the incident in Wyryki.
Rzeczpospolita reported today, citing its own sources, that a missile fired by a Polish F-16 aircraft, which was intended to shoot down a Russian drone, struck a building in Wyryki-Wola in the Lublin region. According to the editorial office, the missile “had a guidance system malfunction.“
The Prosecutor’s Office has not commented on the matter, and the Ministry of National Defence remains silent as well.
As it turns out, the government also did not inform the President of the Republic in this case, despite Donald Tusk’s assurances that he was in contact with the head of state.
“The President emphasizes that he was not informed in this regard, nor was the BBN, and the matter was neither presented nor clarified at the National Security Council,” the National Security Bureau said in a statement issued today.
“Referring to reports by Rzeczpospolita, we inform that the President of the Republic of Poland Karol Nawrocki expects the Government to urgently clarify the incident in the town of Wyryki. It is the responsibility of the Government to use all available tools and institutions to explain this matter as quickly as possible,” the BBN stressed.
The Bureau noted that “there can be no consent to concealing information,” especially in the face of hybrid warfare and disinformation.
