Divers have found the body of a 13-year-old Polish girl who was swept away by the sea on Monday in the town of Ċirkewwa, Malta. The girl was walking with her father and brother when a large wave hit her. The father, who managed to save his son, was himself injured.
The tragic accident occurred on Monday afternoon. Difficult weather conditions, a rough sea, and strong winds later hampered the search for the child.
The body was found on Wednesday morning in Paradise Bay, near the place where the girl went missing, reported the “Times of Malta”.
A special unit of the Maltese police is providing assistance to the girl’s family, the newspaper said.
The 13-year-old had been on holiday in Malta with her family.
