“Do you think Tusk cares about this?” Kaczyński warns: “They’re robbing people in broad daylight!”

“Do you remember how they lied, ‘Nothing that has been given will be taken away’? Now, in broad daylight, they are robbing patients!” said Jarosław Kaczyński, chairman of Law and Justice (PiS).

MP Katarzyna Sójka (PiS) published a letter from the minister of health to the minister of finance – it shows, among other things, that next year’s budget plan assumes 10.3 billion złoty less for patients. Access to specialists will be reduced, the number of funded surgeries will drop, reimbursement of medicines for seniors will be cut, and county hospitals will receive less funding.

Jarosław Kaczyński, chairman of Law and Justice (PiS), responded to these alarming reports on social media.

“Do you remember how they lied, ‘Nothing that has been given will be taken away’? Now, in broad daylight, they are robbing patients!” he wrote.

“Next year they are taking more than 10 billion złoty from the money intended for treatment and introducing limits, among other things, on cataract surgery, CT scans for oncology patients, abolishing the ‘good meal’ programme in hospitals, and restricting drug reimbursement. Limits for specialists are coming back… Do you think Tusk cares about this?” he added.

In an interview with niezalezna.pl, former minister of finance Andrzej Kosztowniak commented on the cuts in the National Health Fund (NFZ).

“The government of Donald Tusk put a noose around the necks of ordinary Poles a long time ago, and now it is pulling the rope tighter and tighter from all sides. The healthcare system is falling apart before our very eyes. And in other areas of life, things are just as difficult,” the MP assessed.
