Donald Tusk remained silent on the 16th anniversary of the Smolensk disaster. Morawiecki: “Complete, Telling Silence. Shame”

Prime Minister Donald Tusk did not pay tribute to the victims of the Smolensk air disaster on the 16th anniversary of the tragic events. “He remained silent about the death of the President of Poland, the First Lady, and the highest state officials. On such an important day – complete, telling silence. Shame”, commented former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

On April 10, 2010, near Smolensk, in the crash of a Tu-154 aircraft carrying a delegation to the 70th anniversary commemorations of the Katyn massacre, 96 people were killed, including President Lech Kaczyński and his wife Maria Kaczyńska, the highest-ranking military commanders, and the last President of Poland in exile Ryszard Kaczorowski. On the 16th anniversary of the death of the Presidential Couple and other members of the Polish delegation, numerous commemorative ceremonies were held to mark this dark day for Poland.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk did not take part in the commemorations of the victims of the Smolensk tragedy, nor did he mention the tragic events from 16 years ago on social media.

This was noted by former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. “The 16th anniversary of the Smolensk disaster, and Donald Tusk did not write a single word about the victims. He remained silent about the death of the President of Poland, the First Lady, and the highest state officials. On such an important day – complete, telling silence. Shame”, Morawiecki wrote on X.com.
