Drone Crashes Near Major Gas Compressor Station in Podlasie: 23 Russian Machines Found in Poland

The Police and the Military Gendarmerie have reported the discovery of a drone in the village of Zaręby-Warchoły (Ostrów County). Near the village is a key gas pumping station on the Polish section of the Yamal gas pipeline. According to our findings, this is the 23rd drone found on Polish territory since the night of September 9–10, 2025, when Russia carried out a massive violation of Polish airspace. Earlier, Prime Minister Donald Tusk had mentioned 19 violations of Polish airspace, followed by military reports of 21 cases. “We will know how many drones fell once they have all been found,” said the head of the government two weeks after the attack.

On Saturday, just before midnight, the Mazovian Police posted a statement on their website, reporting that around 6:00 p.m. “in a field in Ostrów County, in the village of Zaręby-Warchoły, a man noticed debris resembling parts of a drone.”

“The nearest buildings are an uninhabited house. Police officers secured the object and the site where it was found. The Military Gendarmerie and a prosecutor were notified,” the statement read.

The Military Gendarmerie also released a statement, confirming that the Mazovian Division of the Military Gendarmerie is conducting activities under the supervision of a prosecutor from the Military Affairs Division of the District Prosecutor’s Office for Warsaw-Ursynów.

The site where the object was found lies approximately 10–12 kilometers south of the large Zambrów gas compressor station in Grzymały (Zambrów County), owned by the EuRoPol Gaz company.

Unofficially, the object is said to bear inscriptions in Russian.

23 Drones Found Since the Night of September 9–10

According to our findings, 23 drones or their fragments have so far been discovered in Poland since the night of September 9-10, 2025, when Russia carried out an unprecedented, large-scale violation of Polish airspace. The drones have been found in five provinces: Lublin, Mazovia, Warmia-Masuria, Świętokrzyskie, and Łódź.

At the time, niezalezna.pl and TV Republika reported, citing their sources, that at least 20 drones had entered Polish territory.

On September 10, Prime Minister Donald Tusk informed the Sejm that there had been 19 violations of Polish airspace and confirmed the downing of three drones.

On September 17, the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, General Wiesław Kukuła, announced that 21 airspace violations had been recorded.

The Chief of Staff noted that not all drones or their debris had yet been found.

“We are aware that locating especially fragmented remains, which may be heavily damaged and located in unfrequented or densely forested areas, may still take some time,” the general said.

On September 22, Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that the exact number of drones that violated Polish airspace would be known once all have been located.

“We will know how many drones fell once they have all been found. I understand the impatience visible in these questions. But it is not as if the Russians informed us exactly how many drones entered our airspace. As you know, the identification and search operations are still ongoing,” said the Prime Minister.
