Elżbieta Wójcik Sets Historic Record in Polish Boxing

Elżbieta Wójcik has become the first Polish female boxer to secure a spot in two separate Olympic tournaments. This landmark achievement took place during the Olympic boxing qualification tournament in Italy, where Poland clinched three spots for the Paris Olympics—all of which were earned by women.

Wójcik, who competes in the 75kg category, is set to represent Poland along with her teammates Julia Szeremeta and Aneta Rygielska in the upcoming games. However, it’s Wójcik’s unique accomplishment that has etched her name into the annals of Polish Olympism. Having previously competed in the Tokyo Olympics, where she advanced to the round of 16, Wójcik’s return to the Olympics underscores her exceptional skill and the increasing visibility of female athletes in competitive boxing.

The Polish Boxing Association highlighted Wójcik’s historic milestone, celebrating her as a trailblazer in women’s boxing.
